SECA

​​Carmel College is a full member of the South East College's Association (SECA), which also involves 12 other Colleges in the Brisbane region.  The emphasis of all SECA Sport is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in sport, be physically active and demonstrate Carmel College's four pillars while representing the College with pride.  To keep up to date with SECA news, including fixtures and results from the season, visit their website, http://seca.sportzvault.com/default.aspx, or download the SECA App. 

There are three aspects to SECA Sport at Carmel College:

  1. The SECA Winter Sport Season

The SECA Winter Sport Season occurs on Thursdays during Terms 2 and 3.  All students participate in either a sport or alternative activity, students have their chance to nominate their choice in Term 1.  Students can only participate in one sport or activity for the entire season.

Sport options that compete against the other colleges include:

  • Basketball
  • Indoor Soccer
  • Netball (girls)
  • Rugby League (boys)
  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Touch Football
  • Volley Ball

Alternative activities vary each year and can incur a cost to participate.

       1.       SECA Gala Days

Some sports are offered as a gala day only.  Students can nominate and trial for these sports as they arise throughout the year.

  • Cricket (Term 1)
  • Oztag (Term 1)
  • Rugby 7's (Term 3)
  • AFL (Term 3)

       2.       SECA Carnivals

Carnival​'s are held for Swimming (Term 1), Cross Country (Term 2) and Athletics (Term 3), where the best athletes from Carmel College compete against those from other schools in order to be crowned the champion school.
