Year 12

Students’ final year in the Carmel College Senior Pathways Program is an important time for students as they begin their transition to life after school with the support and guidance of their parents.  We aim to support students as they make decisions about their education, training and career options after Year 12.
The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) is the organisation that manages the application and offer process for a number of universities, TAFE institutes and private colleges in Queensland. The QTAC application is processed online on the QTAC website at At Carmel College we encourage all students to lodge an application, even if they have a job or apprenticeship lined up for the following year, as this provides a safety net in case circumstances change.

In Term Three Carmel College hosts a QTAC presentation covering applications, tertiary pathways and QTAC selection ranks. Attendance at the information session will help you support your child through this process.
QTAC/ Post School Pathway Interviews
During Term 3, each Year 12 student at Carmel College will have an individual interview with the Senior Pathways Coordinator to discuss their QTAC application and/ or their post school plans. These meetings provide students the opportunity to get the support they require at this important juncture and ensure that every student has a plan to achieve their goals after school.
